In the second quarter of this year, the chromium price plummet in Mainland China affected both the price and sales volume of stainless steel plate products at Walsin Lihwa, with the earnings from such products lower than those in the previous quarter and the same period last year. The chromium price has been gradually stabilizing since July to help stainless steel product prices go steadier and, in general, the July shipment of stainless steel products improved from that in May and June.
Walsin Lihwa Corporation, established in 1966, has been the leading manufacturer for copper wires and rods, power cables, and specialty steel in the greater China region.
