Continually enhancing its equipment capacity and R&D capabilities, the company adopts intelligent system implementations to deliver a comprehensive range of products, meeting customer demands for timely delivery.
Walsin Lihwa boasts an annual billet capacity of 1 million tonnes, and its stainless steel long product output ranks among the highest globally. In 2022, the company’s investment in Italy-based Cogne Acciai Speciali (CAS), a European leader in stainless steel bars and wire rods, enhances complementarity and synergy with customers across products, technologies, equipment, and distribution channels. This strategic move facilitates the development of American and European markets by offering a diverse array of high-value products and applications, reinforcing Walsin Lihwa’s global leadership in stainless steel bars and wire rods.
In August 2023, CAS acquired two rolling mills in Sweden from Outokumpu, expanding its rolling capacity and developing Nordic sales. In the same year, the company acquired UK-based Special Melted Products Ltd., a leading manufacturer of specialty steels and nickel-based superalloys used in critical applications for the aerospace, oil & gas, and civil nuclear industries. These acquisitions through CAS signify Walsin Lihwa’s entry into international supply chain for high-end specialty applications, which further strengthen its overall competitiveness and establish global leadership.
